SCHOOL OF AERONAUTICS (Estd: 1992)

( LEADERS IN THE AVIATION INDUSTRY )

29 YEARS OF GLORIOUS SERVICE TO THE AVIATION INDUSTRY

SOA WAS AWARDED "TOP 10 AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING COLLEGE IN INDIA"

BY CMAI, SUPPORTED BY AICTE, AIU, RTU, NIELIT, NSIC, DEPARTMENT OF MNRE, MSME

(GOVERNMENT OF INDIA)

SOA is among the Top 10 ranking Aeronautical Engineering and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Colleges in India approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for AME Program & by AICTE for B.Tech. (Aeronautical Engineering) and B.Tech., (Mechatronics Engineering). SOA has created excellent technical infrastructure for Aeronautical Engineering and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME ADMISSION) training, including its own live aircraft, laboratories, workshops, library, and smart classrooms for classroom teaching. We have 28 years of excellence in aviation education and have provided human resource solutions to the general aviation & airlines industry in India and abroad, placing over 5000 students as Aeronautical Engineers and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. Our students are successfully working in 200-plus companies as Aeronautical Engineers and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.

India is the third-largest aviation market in the world after the US & China, requiring thousands of new aircraft and Helicopters, which will require extensive maintenance facilities, including repair and overhaul (MRO) for aircraft power plants/avionics systems and other allied components. Thousands of Aeronautical Engineering professionals and aircraft Maintenance Engineers will be required to handle this fast-growing situation, resulting in a huge number of jobs for Aeronautical Engineers and aircraft Maintenance Engineers, in line with the new Government of India Aviation policy, which has aggressively planned the growth of Civil Aviation in India. As per this policy forecast, passenger growth in India is expected to reach 300 million from 80 million today over the next 5 years. According to the CAPA survey, the expected demand for trained aviation manpower is approximately 3.3 lakh over the next 5 years.

We are providing B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering & Mechatronics Engineering and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME). We also have a facility where students can pursue Integrated courses in B.Tech (Aeronautical Engineering) and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering; both courses will run in parallel. At the end of four years, students will have both B.Tech (Aeronautics) & Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, thereby making them eligible for both manufacturing and Maintenance jobs related to aircraft. This will also enhance placement probabilities, as we will be able to apply for all types of jobs in the aviation industry, whether manufacturing- or maintenance-related.

All the labs at the college are well developed, and we have our own two 52-seater, fully serviceable aircraft for student training. We focus heavily on students' skill development. In addition to academic theory and practicals, we are offering classes in French and software such as CAD, CAM, CATIA, CFD, MATLAB & ANSYS. This helps students enhance their software skills, too, which will help them build their models and perform software analysis. The French language is also provided to students.
